Frequently asked questions

Do you have any local agents where I can purchase Staytrem products or is there anywhere else I can by them online.

We do not have any agents or official dealers, our products are only available to purchase directly from this website. Any of our products being offered for sale elsewhere should be considered as being second hand and as such they will not be covered by our comprehensive guarantees. Therefore you should also not expect to pay any more than the prices shown on this site.

Do you offer a trade discount.

Sorry but we are not able to offer any discount or concession for trade.

Will the Staytrem Jaguar / Jazzmaster bridge fit with a mute.

Yes the Staytrem Jaguar / Jazzmaster bridge will fit with a mute no problem.

What is meant by the fretboard radius

There is a very good description on the Fender website.

Why does the tremolo arm on my Jaguar Staytrem swing down when I let go of it.

The most likely reason for this is that you have not inserted the arm far enough into the collet, it does require a very hard push to insert fully. Once fitted correctly it should stay in place when released. Click here for more information.

Will the Staytrem Jaguar / Jazzmaster bridge replace my AOM bridge

The Staytrem Jaguar / Jazzmaster bridge is not a suitable replacement for guitars that have an Adjustomatic bridge, such as the Classic Player and J Mascis Jazzmaster.
We did make a conversion but this is no longer available.
There are sometimes solutions to be found on Ebay and other similar sites.

Do you offer the Staytrem bridge with brass saddles.

We did trial the bridge with brass saddles but found that there was no noticeable increase in sustain or sound quality, unlike when fitting a brass block to a Stratocaster which does make a big difference due to the large mass of the block.
Also we found that the strings very quickly wear into the saddles due to brass being a soft metal.

We only produce the bridge with saddles made from stainless steel which is very hard wearing.

How does the Staytrem bridge compare to other aftermarket replacement bridges.

There are many replacement bridges on the market ranging from cheap Chinese manufactured units to over complicated and over engineered units with a price to match. There have also been new bridges introduced to the market recently with copies of some of our design features.

  • The Staytrem bridge is very quick and easy to set up, unlike some with several adjustments required to set the radius and intonation.

  • The Staytrem saddles are able to move unrestricted either way across the full width of the baseplate, bridges that have springs retaining the screws have severely restricted saddle movement.

  • The Staytrem bridge height adjustment screws are permanently held tight, no dropping down over time and no 'Loctite' required.

  • All parts are manufactured by us in the UK so we have full control over quality and precision.

  • The Staytrem bridge will not significantly change the appearance of the guitar from the original.
